Hi my brother. I am presently repairing a 17 ft mako. The stringers are rotting and there are dry spots in the Woven roving on the floor. I know I have to repair those, but the side of the boat songs a bit hollow. The side are originally done with woven roving too. I am wondering if the hollow song in the sides need to be strengthen as well? Please let me know your thoughts.

I used to own that boat! It’s hull # 751. She took us on the loop in 17-18. Her name then was VIRIDIAN. Oh how I miss her.

I purchased the Katy Leigh, a 1981 GB Classic, in Panama City, FL in the spring of 2022 and with the help of a captain, brought her up to Rhode Island. She was the second boat I looked at. The first had fuel tank issues and so I passed on it. Katy Leigh's fuel tanks were cleaned out, the fuel polished and the tanks pressure tested before I bought her, and so all is well for now. WOW! Thanks for the accurate and simple explanation, Skipper! I read the instruction manuals for my Okuma Komodo baitcasters front-to-back and this issue isn't even mentioned by thr manufacturer! Another experienced UA-camr said that once your levelwind is out of sync that it's "impossible" to re-sync without a complete re-spool of the line. I've recently moved over to permanently engaged levelwind baitcasters for my inshore fishing and this is all new to me. Thanks again for the great video! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

Hey Tim, sorry to hear about this. A few years ago I had a leaking tank on my 37 silverton. 1985. I ended up replacing the tanks over the winter so had Lasalle pull the motors and stored them next to the boat. I cut the tanks in half to avoid removing more than just the motors These were gas tanks so I was nervous cutting but I flushed them really well and filled with water. I had the tanks built a bit smaller than original so could get them back in. Same company that built them originally, used heavier gauge aluminum and they painted them (originals were not painted). I like to rig return lines so that you can choose which tank it's going to return to. It should always return to the tank that you are using. Never to the other side so put valves in

It is possible to do a repair in a tank but it's always going to be there waiting to leak. Eventually it will leak very hard to seal up a tank from the inside

In the bay, any advice on tides and times to target blues this time of year? Fluke fishing was good in bay on Sunday afternoon on outgoing, although tiny sea bass are viciously shredding Gulp.
